Norton, Ir. , has had some interesting expe- riences in the past couple years. In October 1975 they played for President Ford while he cam- paigned in various towns in N.H. Afterward they attended a banquet feast at McDonald's. In March 1976, at the Holyoke St. Patricks Day Parade, a monsoon struck while they were marching through the streets. Wet wool is not nice. The band attended a number of Bicentennial parades throughout the year in numerous surrounding towns, including Hinsdale and Brattleboro. A 40-inch Bicentennial drum, designed by Mr. Stevens, was restored by Bob McCauley and Ed Page. Thanks for everything, Mr. Norton. 1 ' ' - V , .
