THE GUIDANCE, HELP AND ENCOURAGEMENT EXTENDED TO US HAS BEEN DEEPLY APPRECIATED. Principalfs Messa e To the Class of 1963 Many months have now passed since that awesome day in September, l95l, when you all bid farewell to your parents, and with wonder in your eyes and apprehension in your hearts, entered upon one of the most exciting chapters in your young lives. You had now become a part of a rapidly -moving world where the minutes came with well -governed order and regularity. You found the days passed all too -quickly into months, and the months into years. In all this time you found one thing to be constant: With diligent work, progress and success was attain- able. Now you are about to end your days in public education. You are about to separate and travel many and diverse paths. No one will necessarily be looking over your shoulders to tell you what you should or should not be doing. But one thing is certain: As you continue beyond this point you must endeavor to set far -reaching goals for yourselves. Do not seek the easiest path to your future, for it may be strewn with many and devious hidden pitfalls. Set for your- selves a course on the high road. Never look back unless to measure your forward progress, never look down unless to offer a helping hand to those less fortunate. Only look onward to tomorrow and upward to the stars. For in this direction lies your future and the future of mankind, You are in the vanguard of a wonderful era. Make the most of it. Constantly strive for success, picking yourself up when you falter and continuing on. And, in addition to being true to yourselves, always remember that as your class so wisely believes: Nothing is accomplished without work. Good luck, and God -speed as you leave today and enter tomorrow. Bruce E. Stewart, Jr. Principal The School Board The members of the Hinsdale School Board are very grateful to have had the op- portunity to take part, with the School Building Committee, in the planning, building and presentation of a much larger, well furnished and better facilitated new high school for the young people and future citizens of our town. We now have a building in which we can partake of a broader, more varied pro- gram with hopes of increasing our staff to make this possible in the near future. It is with great pleasure that we extend our very best to the first graduating class from our new high school. To the Class of 1963, we wish you every success. Richard S.
