Q 76 , N The 1985 girls swimming team started c with a promising season. There was an i crease in the number of participants. Wi the help of the returning team member the hope and spirit of the members knew: bounds, especially those going at it for tl first time. Practice made a lot of things even hardf First they had to return to the school at 5:4 then practice at Central till 9:00. Then the was the lifting of weights and the ment training. These things took a lot out of tl girls. Many created goals, and met these goa with strong determination. The membe took great pride in their vast improvemer Many anticipate a better team next year. Finally, there is one thing these git proved, and that was they were and still a most definitely a FLIGHT ABOVE Tl REST! 4 -S

All Wet Hopes are high for the future boys swimming team at Hinkley High School. Even though they had another winless season, the Thunderbirds scoring average im- proved over previous years, although they finished with only srlx' swimmers. The T-Birds will lose only one senior, co-captain Mike Price, who will be sorely missed. First year coach joanie Todd looks forward to a much improved season next year. Sophomore butterflyer, Kevin Chance, will stand out along with junior co-captain, joe Medina and versatile treshman, Alan Swarts, Also returning are distance man Robert Price, and sprinters, Greg Eirish and Chad Griesr, Hopefully with a large turnout next year, the team 'an look forward to a successful season.
