The poms were really busy arforming at football and basket- all halftimes. They also competed 'a competition at Smokey Hill and arformed at a Regis College bas- rtball game. They helped raise oney for Muscular Dystrophy by vrticipating in the Kick-a-thon. The 'ls marched in the Parade of Lights id the Gateway to the Rockies Pa- de with Hinkley's band. The members of the squad quickly 'came friends and had many good times together. lt was easy to have fun and still get ready to perform since the squad got along so well, and had respect for one another. About the only problem this year was that a few girls had to move or just leave the squad, so the squad grew smaller and smaller. This year's pom squad contained many talented girls who showed a lot of spirit for the school. Coleman, Troy Freese, letf Sparks, Greg Armstrong Shaffer Reed this years T -Birds Edition won two league one non-league gameg a genuine improvement over lastg A strong supporting cast was made up ol juniors: Keith l left Lookadoo, Scott Morgan and Larry Schleugen Sr mores, Ricky Coleman and Ron James rounded out the Va line up. The season began on a positive note with a 66-65 vh over Fruita. After a dry spell the T-Birds came back tc two out of their last four league games which include upset of cross town rival Gateway. There were many strong individual performances inch Shaffer Reed hnishing second in the league scoring race a 22 points per game average. The strongest peformance season though, was by a TBird Team that developed chl ter throughout the season and finished strong ee With sik returning letterman, four of which started at: time and many excellent young players coming up througi program.
