UIQAIDUAIIUN '85 Graduation 1985. lt was finally over. The big day had arrived. lt was both a happy and sad day filled with joy and excitement. Many colors were represented on the field,' the shades of blue of the graduates, the black gowns of the administrators, the silver cords of the top twenty, the gold cords of the top ten, and the white gowns of the junior escorts. The 1985 valedictorian was Julie Veen. The salutatori- an was Carla DeSantis. They each made speeches dur- ing the ceremony. Alan Trujillo was the Master of Cere- monies, and Cynthia Rosenbach introduced the plat- form guests, Nicole Cox gave the invocation, and Brian Clay the benediction. Joan Ott, assistant principal, pre- sented academic honors to the graduates. Sally Minelli, assistant principal, presented scholarships and awards to recipients. Stanley Pursley, principal, presented the class, and John Stuart, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools, accepted the class. The concert choir performed Friends, Forever and the Alma Mater. The symphonic band performed the processional, Pomp and Circumstance and the reces- sional, Coat of Arms. On completion of the diploma presentations, the sky was filled with blue caps.
