CHAMPIONS AT LAST Coach Pounder and his assis- tant coaches have led the Thunderbird Football Program to many firsts over the past four years. ln 1982, the team went to its first State Playoff game. The 1984 team was the first to beat Cherry Creek. They were also the first Aurora team to beat Fairview and Cherry Creek in the same sea- son. The Hinkley Thunderbirds of 1985 were the first football team to win a trophy, doing so as Frontier Division Co-Cham- pions.
