'-E fr if,t.,.---- 5 Chuck Brightly plays his hcart out at one of the foot- ball games. Year. Mr. Bill Myers directed stage band this year at Hinkley. The stage band has been with Hinkley for a great many years. Most people consider the two bands one, but they aren't, they are both separate classes. Stage band works mostly with the marching band, attending concerts to- gether and performing with each other at football games. Stage band helps to keep school spirit alive by showing their enthu- siasm at pep assemblies with the march- ing band. At the rate they are going, be- fore long they will have a reputation they can call their own. One of Hinkley's trumpeters puts forth his best ef- fort. Organizations 79

The band is responsible for some of Mr. Bill Myers. This year's main event the schools entertainment at football was their trip to Mexico. They raised part games and pep assemblies. Hinkley Boasts Excellent Choirs Hinkley's Concert Choir with a mem- bership of forty-live. gave three school performances and participated in the State Contest. The year was highlighted by a trip to Grand Junction to compete in a national contest and the performance of Gabriel Faure's Requiem. Like Concert Choir. Girls' Ensemble also had forty-five members and participated in the State Contest. The T-Bird Singers. the most se- lect singing group at Hinkley, had four- teen members. This group mostly sang Madrigals. a sixteenth-century style of music. The ensemble gave many perfor- mances, such as singing at banquets and caroling in shopping malls. A Cappella Choir improved its sound with thirty members. which included freshmen. sophomores. and juniors. There was a well-rounded program for all of Hinkley's singers.
