Going there, we'd be home- but we've never seen the place, so we pass it without ever knowing. Still, we can sense that country whenever the wind lifts birds to the sun: they scatter tstartled like words from sleep toward freedoml, flying purely to utter: Flight X 3 At Sunset At the clearing's edge, shadows of pine boughs crawl on my chest and the wind has the flavor of delicate destruction. Even the peaks are wicked as saw-teeth, slowly gnawing the sky. Like cold water, darkness seeps into the white straws of my bones. But suddenly I notice, clinging to my shirt, these pink splinters of forgotten light.
