Many a luckless freshman has torn his hair as he learned better than to split an infinitive, or to leave undone a term paper for Miss Boyd would tolerate no laziness. A tireless worker herself, she demanded the best of her students and they were ever after grateful. ■1 Bashful Bubber! Poplarville got this too ■s r m ■. ' - ' ■■■■' ■FACULTI PRESIDENTS MESSAGE WINNING The signing of the Pasadena Junior Rose Bowl contract binding Hinds Junior College and the Rose Bowl Committee to certain financial and other material obligations was a sportsman ' s dream come true. But an unwritten contract in human relationships already in force transcended in importance any material agreements. To win the State Junior College Football championship required courage, hard work and inspired coaching; to win the Junior Rose Bowl game required a greater measure of the same virtues. But when our students, both on the gridiron and off, won the hearts of the state and nation it was because they had fulfilled their unwritten contract to be modest yet magnanimous in victory, clean, cheerful, and courteous in conduct, and never faltering in their efforts to win. We hope that our students will never lose sight of the great lesson of life they have taught themselves . . . that with winning should come greatness of heart. G. M.
