A complete canning unit and an abattoir are operated in connection with the plant. A frozen food locker system composed of 300 lockers is also operated by the plant. It is operated as a regular part of the Agriculture Department. The library is open every day and night except Sunday. 76 77 L ouege QJootball The 1946 Eagle tootball squad was the greatest in Hinds ' history, being undefeated Junior College Champions and Junior College Bowl Champions. This was their second straight year to receive an invitation to the Lions Bowl at Laurel, Mississippi. Coach John Read, who was assisted by Coaches Les Devall and Perry Waldvogel, attributes the Eagles ' success to excellent team spirit, a fine group of co-operative boys, willing to work long and hard, and untiring support from the student body, faculty alumni and other Eagle fans. The girls ' team had an excellent record, too, winning fifteen games and losing only four, thus finishing in third place in the conference. These boys and girls not only maintained a good record in basketball competition but maintained a high average in scholastic work as well.
