NOMINATING COMMITTEE The nominating committee showed great discref tion this year in their choice of fourteen reliable and capable candidates for the student body officers. Heading this committee was Marilyn VVence and working with her were: Paul Shiraishi, Emilio Ko' mae, sophomoresg Elaine Yano, Roy Nakamoto. jun- iors and Martha Luna. senior. Deciding which students would make good offi- cers and considering the office they fitted best were the major duties that these six performed. INSTALLATION COMMITTEE I-, do solemnly swear to-. These words of determination and willingness to serve were earnestly repeated by the new student body officers for the year 1951-1952 at a special assembly on March 6. With Agnes Fuiioka as chairman, the committee worked hard to plan and supervise this impressive ceremony. The newly installed officers were President George Yuda, First Vice-President Richard Shimabu- kuro, Second Vice-President Helen Kawachika. Sec- retary Katherine Blickhahn, and Treasurer Katherine Takimoto. Winifred Amai, Yuriko Murai, and Tadashi Yoa shizawa assisted Agnes. AMENDMENT COMMITTEE WVorking like beavers, the Amendment Commit- tee of three. Sumie Hisanaga. Marilyn Wence. and Ernest Kurohara. revised the by-laws of the Hilo High Student Association Constitution this year. All year long under the advisorship of Mrs. Sarah W. Putnam and Ah Kong Chun the committee mem- bers submitted a great many amendments that were passed by the Student Council. Finally it was decided that the whole by-laws section be reorganized and all amendments that had accumulated in the past years be inserted. .X'mz1'11t1!1of1 CUIIIHIIIIKTI Rauf 1: Martha Luna.
