LENDING A HELPING HAND Adding a special touch to many of our school functions were the Terrierettes, spon- sored by Mrs. Dixie Murray. This outgoing group of young ladies promoted spirit and represented our school by performing such tasks as fur- nishing refreshments for play- ers and coaches, greeting the opposing team and its spon- sors, and acting as hostesses for concerts and plays. Throughout the year, the Big Red Terrierettes worked hard to help out whenever they were needed, and were always nearby to lend a friendly smile and a helping hand. TERRIERETTES 27

The Big Red Band entertainly performs in the H formation during pre-game. Marching in a straight line is a must. A. Holloway is relieved to end half- time. While awaiting to leave the stadium, S, Salos poses with his Big Red tuba. AN OCEAN OF MOTION Yes, that's what described the 1979-80 Big Red Marching Band. Performing during half- time, the pep assemblies and just before each home game, the band stole the hearts of many Big Red fans with the melodic numbers such as Last Dance, Saint James' Infirmary, and Winners Cir- cle. Putting their efforts together the band was rated excellent at contest and marched in the Gasparilla and Disney World Parades. Under the direction of Mr. Steven Solak and the leadership of Anthony Holloway, band members constantly kept in motion to the rhythm of the different beats. Next on the agenda was the Stage Band. Stage Band con- sisted of members who per- formed forthe Hillsborough students, the junior high schools who are feeder schools to H.H.S., the arrival of Mrs. Rosalyn Carter to the Tampa Bay area and also for the class of 1939 reunion. Hard work and practice were the key words for this fine group of musicians that were also directed by Mr. Solak. Band members march onto the field. MARCHING BAND ' 29 Q. E.
