Fall at HHS means fun and foot- ball for both sexes. While the boys practice for interscholastic competi- tion, the girls are busy with their own Powder Putt game. The spirit that encourages the boys to battle for championships urges the girls in their annual rivalry on the gridiron. Football is temporarily set aside on October 31 and the girls attend a party sponsored by the Z-Club cele- brating Halloween.

There comes a moment, perhaps a quiet afternoon, when each and evcry one of us silently reflects upon certain characteristics of our magnificent school. Two features that mark Hills- borough are its clock tower and red H embedded in the patio. The main tower was faceless until 1949, when the school built a memorial clock hon- oring the war dead. A more recent addition, the H displayed in our patio floor and never stepped on by students, gives true meaning to the words Big Red. These traditional symbols stand as monuments, dis- playing our pride for Hillsborough High and its illustrious past.
