Biology 1 deals with the gen- eral study of life, while Biology 2 takes up human phys- iology and nature study. This year for the first time physics students were taught by a set of films featuring Dr. Harvey E. VVhite of the University of California, supplemented by our own teacher, Mr. Mark Brown. Chemistry introduces the fascinating study of matter and the fundamentals of scientific research which stu- dents use as they complete individual projects for the annual science fair. History lleparimensi Hillsborough excels in the Social Studies department by providing courses covering many phases of history. World History, H1, unfolds the ancient story of civilization. Before us looms the Sphinx of Egypt and the Roman gladiators in the arena. We learn of man's set- backs and progress. American H istory, H2, boasts of an inventive, brave people in a proud new land. We deal with the foun- dation and growth of a new nation. In H3, Problems in American Life, We study about banking, foreign aid, taxes, politics, and economics, and we become acquainted with the problems of life in a democracy such as ours. Family Life and Education, H4, helps us become ma- ture individuals. It teaches us a pure attitude toward marriage, the responsibilities of a couple, and the values of a good home life.
