There were lO6 members in chorus, making Hillsboro the largest chorus at the festival that was held at Litchfield. The chorus put on an operetta, a spring concert, and The Messiah tor the Christmas program making this year a year ot splendid accomplishment and enjoy- ment. l-l.l-l.S. is proud oi their very outstanding choral group. The Dance Band is one ot the most enjoyable sections of our Music department. They add flavor and good music to our school dances, and are enjoyed by all the spectators when they favor us with music at the basketball games. ' The Hillsboro High School Band, under the able direction of Rowley Pence, is an outstanding group. Again this year the band worked hard to maintain the fine reputation they have acquired in this state. Many of the band members spent long hours of practice on solos and ensembles, and they received merited re- wards at contest. The Band performed for us at all home basketball games, and participated in a wonderful Spring Concert. During football season their excellent marching was a spectac- ular sight. Under Mr. Pence's excellent teach- ing the H.H.S.
