Should I take advantage of this master-mind, enter into his magnetic presence, review the past, tremble for the present and wish ior the future? Long had I waited for just such an opportunity - here was the golden hour at hand. without rm-ther ado 1 crossed the palm of the assistant qf this prophet with the required amount of silver and entered into the weird black-draped room. Seated almost directly in line with the entrance was a strange creature of sallow mien. His jewel-bedecked turban glittered even as a rajah's. His robe of purple .hung limply about his gaunt frame which reposed almost nonchalantly on satin cushions of somber color. He seemed not concerned with earthly things but held his gaze steadily into a crystal ball which his talon- fingers caressed again and again. Softly he spoke - - T1s years, yes, years since friends did part and go their many ways. Today you seek, my friend, news of these friends. Give us the words, oh crystal ball, that I may in turn give them to this waiting one. Ah! Here they are - - Betty Bond. Of such a sweet and demure look She can't find an ending for her book. Suddenly the seer looked at me. His eyes glistened, his fingers pointed excitedly toward the ball. He urged me to look deep into its depths. Out of the shining center there emerged the outlines of it be old V.H.H.S.? a building and surrounding grounds. Could all its years of Undoubtedly it was! There, resplendent in and south. Neat growth. Great wings of brick spread north lawn from paved walks laid in a landscaped and be-shrubbed reveal quiet cor- parking spaces to an imposing entrance, to ridors, made so by Wbootlessu students treading on rubber composition. Over wide swinging doors dazzled the work 'Auditor1um'. Shades of Shakespeare: a dream come true. Quickly the scene shifted! Cheering was heard! Why and where? Through one of the unbreakable, post-war windows was caught a glimpse of the Athletic field. A football game was in full swing. The players fumbled, ran and made touchdowns in a blaze of light. The streamlined stadium held the riotous crowd, There was the P.T.Au, though a bit undone by this time, in the grandstand section, and in the bleachers - Mitchell, Hood, Owens, Spruce, Bellows, Waters, Orr, Blankenship and Riddle, with voices feeble, yet determined, were led in yells by Boswell.
