Queen And Court Reflect Libran Ideals This year ' s court royally fulfilled the admired virtues of a true Libra. Their grace and beauty are a lovely reflection of the Libran ideals which have made our school very proud of the 1969 Homecoming Court. Queen Carol Herrick is shown at her moments of greatest joy and surprise after the student body selected her as their 1969 Queen. Queen Carol Herrick J ■' - - .: ' i r ' Mighty Rams Prove Aga in Why ' ' We ' re Hot Stuff -, Friday October 10 dawned as a rainy and dishcarlcning day. President; Bill Cornel - President, Gary Johnson - Sec. , Debbie Francisco - Treas., Mr. Lester - advisor SENIORS Today, it is difficult to contemplate exactly what being a senior means. The answer to tomorrow ' s questions lie within the stars. May today ' s seniors reach tomorrow ' s stars - and beyond. The experiences which we now cherish will soon be nothing but fond memories of the past. All too soon, to- day will slip away and surrender to tomorrow--and all the tomorrows to follow. But not even a thousand tomor- rows can erase these unforgettable moments when we were one of the most privileged persons to ever live--the precious moments when we were Seniors . . . i H RICHARD ALDRICH CAPRICORN Nickname: Rich Football-- 1 Band-- 1,2, 3 JOHN ALLETT AQUARIUS Nickname: J.K.A. Duncan as our next state dir- ector of Health, Education, and Welfare. Continuing to gaze into our crystal ball, it can clearly be seen that Dave Tarrant will soon challenge for the light- weight championship of the world because he ' s so springy and light on his feet. If all goes w ell, Kathy Baird sh be the head waitress at Farrell ' s Parlor. Penny Staley ' s inability to re- sist Tom C ' s suave manner wins Tom our nomination as the next Vote Toothpaste Taster. Demonstrating the principals which won them the Nobel Prize in Physics are Dr. Mark Thiel and his able assistant, Jack Kelly. Tom Root will be our next town minister. His Favorite verse? I look toward the heavens, from whence my help cometh. My help cometh from the Lord. Because of her devotion and hours of practice. Sheila Lovasz will probably be our next typing instructor at Hill-McCloy. LEFT: Today ' s Renee Lynn may well be the Picasse of tomorrow. The Look Of Progress With extensive research and reporting, the Student Council presented the Board of Education with their re- commendations for a new student dress code. President Jerry Scanlon spearheaded the drive and the Senior Class attended a School Board meeting to present their views especially on blue jeans and slacks for the feminine students. After several nnonths work, the result is seen at the left in a modern dress code. The Board gave the stu- dents a trial period of two weeks before Christmas and one week after vacation before voting and approving the change on January 12, 1970. Briefly the new Dress Code is as follows: 1. No shorts, bermudas, bloomers, low-cut dresses or spaghetti straps for girls. Slacks are permitted. 2. No shorts, bermudas, or cut-offs for boys. Blue jeans are permitted provided they are clean. 3. Hair neatly trimmed and not extending over the col- lar in back. Sideburns of any length. 4. Trimmed mustaches will be allowed but the rest of the face is to be clean shaven. 5. Sweatshirts are allowed provided they are clean and not mutilated. 6. No t-shirts are to be worn except with an outer shirt. 7. Socks always, except with sandals. ( 1 I 1969 Majorettes are Jan Vette, Judy Pope, Shirley Tekiele, and Cathy Da -is. Undefeated CC Recaptures League Title It takes a special type of man to run two miles at an all-out pace with no spectators there to cheer him on. And it takes a special type of man to outperform the competition every time. Ram harriers, it goes without saying, are special men. Montrose Cross Coun- try, in repeating as County B champions, has established a 14 - record in the last two years in capturing successive league titles. The balanced running of Montrose accounted for IS - 2 season overall and sent Gary Johnson, Bruce Moss, Ken Fall and All - Stater Dave Wilson to the state meet. The Rams finished third in the regionals with their team effort. Montrose Ram Cross Countr - Fans can look fons-ard to next year when an undefeated Junior ' arsity will move up to add to the powerful Ram running. Complete Exciting Season Coach Beale ' s Varsity completed a very successful basketball season, the best in Ram history, with a 10-2 league mark and a 12-5 posting overall. Although a comparatively small team, the Rams made up for their lack of size with outstanding speed and hustle. Montrose was in contention for the B League championship throughout the season before losing the final game and the championship to a tough Bendle team by a 73-70 score. The high- light of the year was the first victory over Bendle that made us No. 1 in the league at midseason and Steve shows it to the fans and players.
