New Cross Country Team 1st ROW: Bill Miller, Benny Hitchcock, Ricky Sidam, Dick Young, Phil Whitmer, Terry Wilson. 2nd ROW: Mike Fikes, John Math- ews, Pat Regan, Jim McKenzie, Steve Bukosky, Coach Mr. Daniels. A new sport, cross-country running, was added to our competitive sports this year. Although the team ' s record was 2 wins and 10 defeats, it was never-the-less a successful first year, The coach, Mr. Joe Daniels, from Moorhead State College, Minnesota, awarded letters to all boys who stayed out for the complete season . Placing in the conference meet were John Saly and Terry Wilson, 11th and 15th respectively. John Daly was awarded a trophy for being the team ' s most valuable runner. Also, a first year record of 10 min . 23 sec . was established for this 2 mile run.
