‘JV’ Football Gain Experience Improve Record Under Coach Steve Sclchcrt, the junior varsity football team com- piled a 4-2 record for the season. The team consisted of freshmen, sopho- mores, and some juniors. The most impressive victory was a 68-0 thrash- ing of Lyman. Other victories were against Miller, Sully Buttes, and Lower Brule while the Stanley Coun- ty and Gettysburg contests ended in defeat. The junior varsity team was a ma- jor factor in the success of the varsi- ty. They drilled the varsity offense and defense to perfection every night in practice. Through their junior var- sity efforts, the young Pirates re- ceived experience for coming years.
