Pirate Day, September 27 and 28, 1958. This day with all its gala festivities shall long remain in our memories. The crowning of Larry Brock and Sharon Mehrer as Pirate Day king and queen on Thursday evening inaugurated the homecoming activities. After the coronation the royal party received regal entertainment from Pirate hula-hoopers and singers. The traditional pep fest and snake dance followed. On Friday afternoon, under the direction of Tom Durfee, Pirate Day marshall, the procession of beautifully decorated floats added a touch of color to the day's festivities. The highlight of Pirate Day was the winning of the gridiron game as the Pirates defeated Faulkton by a score of 14-7. As the homecoming activities were brought to a successful close many new memories were born and many old memories of former school days were renewed. The high school band furnished music for the day's activities.
