Don Faulstich Hobert Jensen Boyd Beastrom Rob Houdek Irl Larson Highmore Pirates opened the 1951 grid- iron season by suffering a loss at the hands of the Gettysburg Battlers, 7-0. The score evened when the Pirates journeyed to the «Vest iiiver country to w’uip L.urdo 20-G. Against Miller, the Pirates succumbed to the ‘mistiers', 26-7, which saw the better conditioned team lose. Homecoming Pirate Jay hopes dimmed as the Paulkton Trojans went on to win, 14-34. Previous battle scars healed, however, when the Pirates downed the undefected Chamberlain Cubs 20-13. The Onida warriors re-opened Pirate battle scars by scalping the Pirates 45-7 at Onida.
