The 1974 Student Council has achieved a high level of success in its 7 endeavors throughout the year. The Northern Kentucky Student Council Convention, sponsored by Highlands High School, was heightened by the presence and opening speech of Congressman Gene Snyder. Representatives of the student body participated in establishing a unified Student Exchange program for Northern Ken- tucky schools. The football parents night has long been a tradition, but for the first time Student Council not only sponsored this, but also the basketball parents night, The newly revived football King and Queen festivities and dance were accompanied by a number of Student Council dances, two of which were nostalgic affairs pat- termed after the sock-hops prevalent during the 19503. This past Thanksgiving season, the student body of Highlands displayed great enthusiasm in support of the annual canned goods drive. Student Council also sponsored Intramural Basketball, the ping-pong tourna- ment, student exchange, and the purchase of a refrigerated water cooler for the Senior Building. All in all, it was a very good year!
