The second-year classes have read my+hs from Ovid. sfories of Roman hisfory from Livy. and Caesar's own accoun+ of his Gallic Wars. A class scrapbook of I151 Caesar references from +he currenf newspa- pers and magazines has been made. Cicero. Sallusi. Ovid. and Virgil have been +he aufhors read in he +hird and four'rh years. The s+u- den+s have discovered +ha+ even Cicero could ere a good de+eciive sfory when he chose. All pupils have read ex+ensively in English from books wi+h La'Hn background. Because i+ believes in iraining for enligh+- ened cifizenship, Highiands offers a compre- hensive prog ram of SOCIAL SCIENCE. Miss Moery and Mr. Rouse. in senior high school. and Miss Worley. Miss Moore. Mr. All- phin. and Mr. 5mi+h. in iunior high school. comprise +he social science factu. Miss Moery's class in economics when sfu- dying a HR on money and banking was given an opporfunHy +0 visif a large bank +0 observe firsthand ?he various funcfions and services fhaf a bank per$orms.
