The publications department of Highlands High School salutes Mr. Herman Vetter for seven years as principal of HHS. In token of his efforts to make Highlands an outstanding high school in academic excellence, vocational training and athletic ability, we dedicate this, the 1972 Brigadoon, in his honor. We recognize that as he ac- cepted the position of Fine Arts Director of the San Antonio ln- dependent School District, he passed another milestone of his life in the field of education. A short pictorial resume of Mr. Vetters life will give you the reader a glimpse of his dedica- tion to the education of the young. Left: As band director of Burbank High School in 1944, Mr. Vetter was consider- ed, by many, quite a handsome gent. Above: Paperwork . . . paperwork . . , and more paperwork was a daily task for Mr. Vetter while Vice-Principal at Highlands from 1961 to 1964. Left: Still the studious one in his new office as Director of Fine Arts of the San Antonio Independent School District, Mr. Vetter is quite happy in his new position.
