Highlands Students invade Rodeo and Livestock Show Bud Iones. Patte Goldbeck, and lack Mowrey found that a fast ride on a double ferris wheel could be fun. Bright sunshine, carnival gaiety, thrills, excitement, animals, exhibits-these things and many more were found every day for a week at the annual San An- tonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. For many Highlands students the rodeo was seen with free tickets and aching feet after marching in the big western parade the first day of the show. On this day, especially, a throng of Highlands students crammed with cotton candy, popcorn, soda water, and other tummy- aching treats rode the dizzying rides, played the games at the concession stands, and watched the rough-and tumble rodeo. To many of the city-bred students, viewing the big and beautifully groomed cattle, horses, sheep, and other stock was a treat in itself. The last evening of the rodeo was tele- vised nationally, enabling more to enioy the show. Louis Irwin, Patte Goidbeck, and Pennie Webb take time to rest after spending a day at the rodeo and livestock show. Bud Iones checks his billfold for handy cash as Pennie Webb and Patte Goldbeck admire the souvenirs. .-l-K. 1111-1- -.4.mLum1wdm n,ff2ie:.s,
