ADMINISTRATORS ACHIEVE SUCCESSFUL YEAR Mr. Allred B. Lehmberq prepares lor a very busy day as Principal ol Highlands High School. To Mr. Lehmberg and the administrators of Highlands High School: We the students and foc- ulty of this newly established school wish to say, Thank-you - thank-you for the innumerable, tire- some, tedious hours that each of you spent towards the establishing of this school's reputation and traditions. With the school's motto - wisdom, hon- or, and truth - in mind, Mr. Lehmberg, you and the other administrators have accomplished much in the creating of the best high school in Son An- tonio, in regard to the scholastic standing, ser- vice activity, and the cha racter of the students of Highlands. The first year of Highlands was not perfect, however, there is the promise of newer and better things to come. Again we would like to express our thank-you's to you, Mr. Lehmberg, our principal, you, Mr. Higdon, our vice-principal and dean of boys, you, Miss McDonald, our dean of girls, and you, Miss Yaeger, our counselor. ADMINISTRATION PRINCIPAL, COUNSELOR, AND DEANS The year 1958-59 is a year which all of us will remember. It is the year when our school opened. The Highlands student body is composed of students who came from many senior, junior, and elementary schools. There was no set policy and there were no traditions to follow. We are the lucky ones who began traditions for future stu- dents of Highlands to follow. If the Seniors of '59 have set the right pattern for future students to follow, they will remember years from now that they were responsible for the high standards and ideals which are going to characterize our school. We have a beautiful school. Juniors and sopho- mores will be here one and two years longer. Each one has an obligation to see to it that his record at Highlands will be such that all future students will be benefited by it. It is our purpose to cre- ate high ideals in our youth, to increase proper respect for law and order, to assist our students in being more tolerant of others, and to have students believe that things worthwhile are worth working for.
