S ' 'A' Wiz -Qi Hifi- ' Jr ' I I , X by . u lllx: 4 F' :XY .1 Et 'J I M iss Nadeen Wrenn. We would like to dedicate the 1973 Hornet to Miss Wrenn. Miss Wrenn was born in Myra, Texas. She graduated from Happy High School in 1925 . She attended Wayland College and received her undergraduate degree from Montezuma College. She went on to West Texas State, where she received her Master's Degree. She first started teaching in Castro County . After three years, she went to Swisher County where she taught for fourteen years. In 1947 , Miss Wrenn came to Potter County., Her assignment? A one-room school at Ady, where she taught class, coached basketball and track. Her duties also included everything else necessary to keep this school in operation. In 1951-52 she taught in Warm Springs, Calif. She returned to Potter County in 1952 . Her assignment? You guessed it - Ady. Some changes had occurred at Ady however. The Ady School had consolidated with the Bushland School. Now Miss a Wrenn could compete with Bushland and Highland Park in basketball and track. Was she tough? You better believe! Sure made our coaches look bad when they were defeated by a one-room school. When the Ady School was closed Miss Wrenn came to Highland Park. She he , .aught here for fourteen years. She will retire after this year . The teachers and students at Highland Park have enjoyed the cheerful association which Our Miss Wrenn has provided. This is the l8th year that I have been connected with the Highland Park School. I appreciate the courtesy and friendliness shown me by the Principal, Teachers, Student Body, and Auxiliary employees. l wish each one connected with the school the best of everything in life, and that you will continue to main tain high regards and interest toward the school in the future, as in the past.
