Life in U.S. is different for frenchman Frederic Bonin experienced the Ameri- can way of life during his year as High- land Park's AFS student. Frederic, a native Frenchman, spent the year with Lisa Hosford and her family. The Key Club and a Senior Play crew position kept him busy during the year. Some of his favorite activities were going to the Texas Ranger base- ball games and the Scot football games. Although Frederic enjoyed the football games, he still was not quite sure what the game was all about. The major difference Frederic found between school here and in France was that in France the girls do not walk around without their shoes on and they never comb their hair or put makeup on in class. Frederic relished his year as an American and before returning to France decided he wanted cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. Highland Park students also spent time abroad. Anne Hodge, an '80 H.P. graduate, went to Istanbul through the AFS exchange program while Ellen White spent her year in Srilanka. Breaktime: Frederic takes a timeout from his studies to enjoy a soft drink. Welcome: H.P, students greet Frederic upon his arrival to the U.S.A.
