A Shining Moment in Camelot On May 16, A Shining Moment in Camelotv was created at the Senior Citizens Center for the 1968-69 junior-Senior Prom. The Brass Sounds performed as Royal Musiciansv, Ierry Young acted as Court Jester, and numerous sophomore girls served as hostesses. General Chairman of the Prom was Bobbye Pahls. The decorating committee played a major part in making the Prom a success. Upon entering the Prom, couples had to cross a moat by means of a drawbridge. Various other decorations, pertaining to the theme, helped to create the atmosphere of a castle. Several other groups which included a theme committee, program and invita- tion committee, gift committee, refreshment committee, and registration committee also helped with the planning ofthe Prom. A farewell address was given by Iunior class President, Carl Engele, to the seniors. Phil Roberts, senior vice- president, represented the seniors in an appreciation address to the junior class. Nancy Mayer reigned as lovely over the 1968-69 prom as Lady Cuenevere reigned over the courts of Camelot. Merlin, the magician, could not have competed with the twinkle in Nancy's eyes when she was crowned. Vivacious Marty Clark and charming Bev Stamm were attendants of the royal court . Nancy was escorted by Allen Yust, Marty was escorted by Gary Morris, and Bev was escorted by a former Highland student, Dan Teeter. The class of ,70 can look back with pride on, A Shining Moment in Camelot , while the class of '69 will long remember their senior prom as one of the loveliest in Highlandis history.
