. . . in sports Desire and sportsmanship were the key words in the athletic department at Highland. Seven different sports divisions were represented, which included cross country, football, Wrestling, basketball, track, golf and baseball. Long hours of vigorous practice paid off with enduring stamina and skill. This was rewarded by a sense of self- esteem and the enthusiastic support of loyal fans. A burning sense of Scot Pride, coupled with the realization and acceptance of defeat as Well as victory, instilled maturity into the growing athletes, jerry Romine strives for a pin as excited teammates cheer him on. Enthusiastic pep club members keep the spirit high,

. . . in beautification The landscaping project provided the student body with their first major opportunity to demonstrate their effectiveness as a united body. Under the direction of Mr. Abraham, the Student Government Sponsored the undertaking and assumed the responsibility for raising the required funds. The goal was set at S3,000, which was reached and surpassed. The trees were plantedg and, Highland students who had helped to make it all pos- sible felt a glowing sense of achievement as the Qgenera- torsv of the successful c'Scot Prideh project. Conscientious students conduct a clean-up campaign in prepara- tion for the arrival of the governor-elect.
