MRS. DORIS HOFFNER Secretary THE ROAD by Eugene Mackey, My weary feet follow the road, though I know not where it leads. For miles and miles I walk along, on its white lines my foot feeds. Some day I will reach the end, just when I cannot say, For there is always a farther curve, and another Inn in which to stay During these high school years, we wonder many times why we are here, what is in store for us, and if it is all worth it. Occasionally, the detours, roadblocks, and rough roads make it seem to be a futile effort. However, for those who are willing to steer through these sharp curves and ride over the rough terrain, an adult human being evolves-a Homo Sapien destined to be a minute but positive force in a complex society. Those who have questioned, pondered, researched, and sought out the seemingly unimportant part of school Creferred to by professionals as curriculumj will be the leaders in our society. Those who have wondered WHY instead of WHAT are destined to be persons with the answers for the future! Whatever route this road takes you, adulthood will be at- tained and the four years at Highland High School will surely be looked upon as THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES. -Keith Neal, Principal MR. LOBATO AND MR. SALAZAR - Custodians MRS. DOROTHY HOFFNER Assistant Librarian
