I Our President DR. DENNIS H. COOKE Since Dr. Cooke came to High Point in 1949, the college has experienced phe- nomenal growth and development. Increasing enrollment, higher academic standards, the creation of new departments, new academic offerings, and new buildings and facilities are a partial witness to the progress the college has made under his leadership. He has brought to his task at High Point College not only his wide experience as an educator, administrator, and author, but also his interest, his constant endeavors for its welfare, and his friendly concern for its students. 10

- DEAN CONRAD The general supervision of college activi- ties is the responsibility of Dean Conrad, whose duties include teaching, working with the faculty in planning the academic pro- gram, supervising the academic work of the students, conferring with them about grades, credit, and courses, and acting as director of the Summer School. The weight of these responsibilities does not deter him from of- fering to the students his guidance, friend- ship, and sympathetic help with their academic problems. Our Deans DEAN ALLRED Dean Allred works directly with the students, counseling them on their personal problems, adjusting student-faculty rela- tionships, and holding the re- sponsibility for their citizenship. His varied duties include admin- istration and regulation of class attendance, coordination of stu- dent activities, direction of the health service, direction of fresh- man orientation, chairmanship of the parking committee, and teaching. His genial humor and personal interest in them endears him to the students.
