Principal Mr. Ringer, principal of our school, spends much of his time ob¬ serving classes and assisting both the students and the faculty. He helps us to graduate with a well-balanced education by encouraging good school work and outside activities. In order that we might have these outside activities, Mr. Ringer is also our athletic director. We are grateful to have a principal interested in the youth of Hicks- ville. Secretary As school secretary, Mrs. Thiel is busy keeping records of all students up to date, taking dictation and transcribing letters, and performing the many other secretarial duties. Yet, as you can see, she always has a cheery smile for all.

' Hicksville Elementary School is an important part of our community. Here the nineteen teachers in¬ struct the students in the basic fundamentals of everyday life. Of great benefit in the elementary program are the large multipurpose room and the cafeteria which serves four hundred pupils. There is also a music program in which the students may participate. The doors of our elementary school are always open to those interested in the educational development of their children. They , Too, Serve Our school board is composed of community- minded individuals interested in the betterment of our school. Although the board is seldom praised or complimented, the members spend many hours of their time appointing an adequate administration and staff, planning for future enrollment, and se¬ curing adequate funds for efficient operation. The school board also promoted the pre-school work¬ shop at the end of August which set the pace for the coming year. Claron Laub, President Bernard Whonseller, Clerk Dr. R. E.
