THE FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS Oli AMER- ICA is a nationally accredited organization under the auspices of the National Education Association. There are three divisions- which include the National Chapter, State Chapters, and the many local chapters. Vile feel that we have made a great improvement in our Commercial Department by establishing this organization. It gives our commercial students a chance to attain higher ideals in the business field. In October of 1956 the FBLA attended the State Convention at Springfield, Ohio. It was held at the v Shawnee Hotel. Wfhile we were there elections for the State officers and for delegates to the National convention were held. Our local chapter has the honor of having Peggy Ruckman as State Reporter and Beth Shirley as delegate to the National Conven- tion at Dallas, Texas. Our club has had several moneymaking projects which will enable some of our members to go to the National Convention at Dallas in june. The Future Business Leaders of America is a young organization, but it has a firm hold here at H.H.S. It is an organization for girls who are sports minded. have high scholastic honors, and who are interested in helping the younger girls learn the fundamentals of basketball. The old saying about brawn but no brains does not necessarily apply to members of the Varsity Club for it takes both these qualities to make a good athlete. Although the Varsity Club has many purposes, the main one is to help the members realize that it matters not whether you win or lose. but how you play the g.llUC.H Bottom row: Mr. Simpson. We've spent long hours getting everything to come out just the way we wanted it to. Sometimes it has been discouraging but now we realize that we learned a lot, broadened our viewpoints, and had a fine time laughing at some of the mistakes we made. We wish to thank all the students for their co-operation, the faculty and administration, Taylor Yearbook Company, Mr. McCormick, Craine's Studios, Mr. Hoff, Ehrhart's Studio and last but certainly not least Mrs. Culler for her many hours of work, her wonderful patience, and her advice.
