TO THE CLASS OF I960: As you approach the threshhold of tomorrow, be it business, armed services or college, al- ways give it your best. Be truthful, trustworthy, and industrious. Take pride in doing an honest job. Meet opportunity when it comes toward you. If you wait until it passes, you will never catch it. What is opportunity? It is the chance to do something, to achieve something, to climb out of the rut, to be somebody of value in the world. Every day means opportunity, every hour means possibility of good work. Say to yourself. 'The world is full of opportunity; seize it and hang onto it.” If you find happiness in the path of life you follow; if you are concerned with the welfare of your fellow man, then success will crown your efforts. THOMAS HORNE Assistant Principal TO THE CLASS OF 1960 Along with the wishes for the future happi- ness usually offered to the graduating class, I feel the need to introduce a more solemn note to this group. Every class has its own personality. Wherein does yours differ from others? You certainly have your share of scholars, musicians, athletes, and artisans as have had other groups, and yet there is a difference. Could it be that you intuitively feel the weight of your responsibility in the future of mankind? Could it be that yourealizethat never before has so much destructive power been available to the civilized world? Could it be that in your sound judgment rests the outcome of the crises we find ourselves facing? Perhaps your class person- ality stems from external factors over which you have had little or no control. Now you begin to feel your strength. Now you begin to take the reins in tour own hands! Act wisely, the future is yours. WILLIAM FEIGIN Assistant Principal - 7
