1-La' f 'lkwxm zU3f'fff1'9L?i To The Senior Class: You . are now finishing the foundation of your preparation for the major problems of life. You have gained much knowledge in these years but there is much more to be learned. Your job isn't keep- ing what you have learned for your- selves but rather making a world where people can live together in 'civilized decency. If you can live in each passing moment as if it were only an atom in time to prove you know the difference between courtesy and discourtesy, kindness and cruelty, truth and lies, good and evil, then each day you will be making for yourselves and for the people around you a world in whieh it is good to live. Thos. Home Assistant Principal To The Class Of '59, In so few words, it becomes difficult to convey the sincere de- sire for your future well-being. To wish all of you success would be trite. To offer the formula would be presumptuous. Keep in mind, however, the thought that a stead- fast resolution to succeed is an invaluable assist in any endeavor. In not too many years, much of what now appears to be extremely important to you will have faded to insignificance. Other facets of your education will have grown in stature Be resolute, and you will find your way. ' Sincere ly, William Feigin?

illli To The Class of '59 h Q A Our America, which we feel is ready to live on friendly terms with the world, is constantly surprised, pained and irritated to find that other nations are not so animated by the same spirit of good will. The America of your dreams of constant progress may soon become endangered itself. I do hope that your sojourn in the halls of Hicksville High School has enabled you to take mental stock of yourselves and to assay the intangible forces that make this America of ours a great nation. May you have the humility to see the world about you clearly, and see it as a whole. Many of the common denominators of life which in pre- vious history survived in spite of war, to-day seem invalid - or at least - challenged. To-day there is no political concept universally accepted. Money - even its power is dubious a a universal link. I do not say these thi ngs to you for mere challenge, but to point out to you that your sheltered days are over and that you are now a part of a world that, in all its strengths and weaknesses, depends on what you do tomorrow. A May you go out in strength, humility and goodwill. May you carry on the ideals of our school and ideals of those who were in your position a short time ago. May God always be with you and may you have kindest remembrances of us. Leon j. Galloway, . A ' Principal .7.
