By Troy Acree The Huskie wrestling team has wrapped up the season, with a fourth place finish in the KVC Tournament. Several Hoover wrestlers managed to get to the semifinals in that tournament. They were Tom Harper in the 112 pound class, David Hall at 119, Daris Shamblin as Unlimited, and David Maloney in the 125 class. Marty Maloney, who posted the top record on the team during regular season, won the championship in the 155 pound class by pinning Stonewall Jackson's Andy Marchal. Although they didn't win the conference title, the Huskie team was impressive at times and was in the race for the title most of the season. Coach Steve Kee believes his wrestlers pretty well lived up to his pre-season expectations, although they werenit quite as proficient at the end of the season as he hoped they would be. Overall Coach Kee thinks his team had a pretty good season. He also is already looking ahead. We are going to be a good team for the next two years because we had several good young wrestlers this season who are going to help us in the future. Seven Hoover wrestlers qualified to compete in the State Tour- naments February 22-24 in Wheeling. They were Rusty Lyons - 98 lb. class, David Crow Hall - 119 lb. class, Danny Bamhouse - 138 lb. class, Marty Maloney - 155 lb. class, Robert Neal - 105 lb. class, Steve Huffman - 132 lb. class, Daris Shamblin - Unlimited. Individual records through the Regional Tournament were: Rusty Lyons 14-12, Robert Neal 4-13, David Hall 17-11-1, David Maloney 16-13-1, Steve Huffman 12-13, Danny Barnhouse 10-13, Don Lucas 4-11, Marty Maloney 24-4, Jeff Young 11-13, Doug May 3-8, and Daris Shamblin 21-8. u 1ST ROW - Coach Key, M. 1 Meadows, J. Collet, S. Burdette, B. D. May, R. Samples, A. Coutz Humphreys. 2ND ROW - J. Sample per, D. Gallian, V. Dawson, C. Staup Rasslin'
