sensations are sensational sponsor pat kelley By Amy Werner Spring is not only a season for sports. It is a time when the music world comes into full bloom also. Many musical ac- tivities have been scheduled this spring by the music department. All-County and All-State tryouts have been held for both chorus and band members. Many of these students are working hard to prepare for their upcom- ing concerts. The students from Herbert Hoover who will participate in the All-State Chorus Concert are: sopranos Melanie Larch and Carmen Bragg, altos Julie Blackwell and Danita Mullins, tenor Chris Taylorg and basses Blaine Hess and Carlton Withrow. The All-State Chorus Concert will be held in Hun- tington on March 31. The students selected to represent Herbert Hoover in the All-County Chorus Concert are as follows: sopranos Carmen Bragg, Patty Cobb, Alice Hardman, Melanie Larch, Kyla Morrison, Michele Payne, Sandra Shafer, Linda Whitehairg altos Julie Blackwell, Debbie Estep, Tinki Knight, Danita Mullins, Becky Ore, Michelle Ringoot, Teresa Slack, Ruth Wygalg tenors John Bird, Curtis Evans, Phillip Hersman, Blaine Hess, Bobby Hodges, Mark Lewis, Randy Pierson, Chris Taylor, Malcolm Whiteg basses Kenneth Baker, Larry Fisher and Carlton Withrow. The All-County Chorus Con- cert will be held on March 23 at 8:00 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium. The spring chorus concert will be held at Herbert Hoover High School on May 28. Blaine Hess will present a selection at the baccalaureate. The full chorus will attend this year's awards assembly and the graduation ceremony to add musical voices to the festivities. The chorus director, Mrs. Patricia Kelly, commented on the spring plans for the chorus. Preparing for the All- County, All-State and school concerts will be the highlights of this year's spring season. The chorus will travel to all elementary and junior high schools in the area.
