getting the runaround by Kim Drennen Cheerleaders, football players, and band members have it easy! They dress for a game and perform only once. This year's Huskie mascot performs twice-first as a cheerleading mascot and then as a band member. There's a lot of running, says Becky Davis, this year's mascot. She often has band and cheerleading practice on the same day. This summer the cheerleaders practiced once a week and every weekday during August. Becky missed cheerleading camp because it was the same week as band camp. During a football game she cheers during the first quarter, then late in the second quarter she changes into her band uniform, to perform at half-time. After half-time she is a cheerleader once more. By the end of a game I'm exhausted, just totally, and soaking wet with sweat, says Becky. In between band and cheerleading she finds time to do her Chemistry, Zoology, and College Algebra and Trigonometry homework. Becky is also a member of the United Nations Club and the Vice-President of the West Virginia Advent Christian Youth fellowship. They love me. Y f Oh Boy, a new flea collar!
