1 Webb Community Ed Juanita Counts and Red Graham By Mary Writer He's the man who's always around with a helping hand, never asking for anything in return. He's the per- son who pulls everything together when it's coming apart at the seams. When patience and time are running short, this gentleman can step in and get the job done. Yet, his identity is left unknown for his name rarely appears on any of his work. His reward is the satisfaction he receives from helping to build our school and community. Who is this masked mann? The Lone Ranger? Spiderman? Superman? Close, but not exactly. Hoover's super hero is none other than Mr. Danny Webb. Mr. Webb is the Community Education Coordinator at Herbert Hoover High School. One of his many duties is to set up the classes given at night in various schools of the community. Mr. Webb also works with guests who come to our school to perform such as special actors and dramatists. Danny Webb spends countless hours working on programs and activities in both schools and the com- munity. One can find him at Hoover long after school has closed helping with a sporting event or checking to see that night classes are running smoothly. While juggling his schedule around to be able to spend the time needed on these programs, Danny Webb still finds time to work with his real love, drama. Mr. Webb has been involved in dramatics since his early years at Marshall University. He has directed many large scale church plays and has also directed children's plays which are casted by students at Hoover. And if you're wondering why there has been such a dramatic change in the quality of the class plays here at Hoover in the past couple years, it's because Danny Webb has had a large hand in directing them. Credit has long since been due this colorful man with such a lively heart and personality. Not every school is lucky enough to have such a dedicated individual. So, next time you think you see a masked man on a white horse or a caped man bearing a large S on his chest zooming down the hall, it won't be the Lone Ranger or Superman. It's mild-mannered Danny Webb rushing to someone's aid and rescue.
