During the 1978-79 school year the Pep Club was involved in many spirited activities. These included putting up nearly enough posters and signs for sports events to make imitation wall paper in the halls and the gym. They also decorated everything from bulletin boards to a fence at Homecoming and even the bleachers for ball games. The club members participated in the various dress up days during Homecoming week. Even though they usually made their own cheering section during games to help the cheerleaders, their enthusiasm was not limited to sports events. They also helped the March of Dimes to collect money for their cause. The Pep Club was prominent when the thrill of victory rang through the halls, but it was also a ma- jor asset in keeping the morale and spirit of the student body, as well as the athletes, raised when these same walls fell silent with the agony of defeat. The officers for 1978-'79 were as follows: President - Tawnya Rucker, Vice President - Scott Bur- dette, Secretary - Becky Chambers, Treasurer - B.B. Porta, Sponsers - Carolyn Young, Mary Kay Moales. 111
