of .fduffzorifg Mr. Cassie, Mrs. Ruffa, and Mr. Mathie in a rare pause from their busy schedules. Hoover has played an important part in the life of Mr. Leslie Cassie, Boys' Vice-Principal. He met his wife here when they were Seniors, and his first teaching assignment was at Hoover as a baseball coach. He now has two fine sons and is a scout for the New York Yankees. Mr. Cassie says that Hoover is a fine school and he is impressed by all the boys who attend it. I feel fortunate to be Working at Hoover with such a fine student body and faculty, is Mrs. Ruffa's attitude towards her job as Dean of Girls at Hoover. A graduate of Wooster College, she is very active in many civic and school af- fairs. With her sincerity, friend- liness, and ever present smile, the girls of Hoover feel mutually fortunate to have Mrs. Ruffa as their Dean. .. ., ,. E The Executive Vice-Principal at Hoover is the very busy and al- ways friendly Mr. William Mathie. He has been at Hoover since he Hrst came to San Diego in 1948. Mr. Mathie enjoys bowling, ath- letics, golf and gardening in his spare time. He is also active in the Little League and Boy Scouting. Mr. Mathie was graduated from San Diego State and received his Masters from Cal Western Univer- sity.

He was born in Mission Valley, graduated from San Diego High, and obtained his A.B. from San Diego State College in Biological Sciences. He later received his Master's degree in Educational Administration at the University of Southern California. He now resides in La Jolla Qnear the ocean, but he's not a surferj with his wife and his pride and joy, his son Bobby. Fishing and spectator sports are Mr. Allen's hobbies in his spare time and he was seen at almost every football game of Hoover's big season in '63. In describing Hoover, Mr. Allen- sums up his feeling in the word Tremendous,
