Zanuary ass 1 l THE January class ot '36, when organized during the spring term ot '35, elected as Senior B otticers: president, Joe Shell: vice-president, David Regneryg secretary, Murl Gib- son: treasurer, Josephine LeMarre. They selected and ordered their rings and sweaters during the spring semester. When the senior A class organized in the tall, Josephine l.eMarre was elected president and Murl Gibson, vice-president. Charles Nolen was elected secretary and Shirley l-lannah, treasurer. Representative seniors were selected to do the class business and manage the attairs ot , graduation. Q Their senior A production, lcebound, given on three nights, January 5, 6, 7, by the best actors in the class, was very successful. ' E The social activities began on January l5, when the class went to 5 Pine Valley on the traditional Senior A Ditch Day. The ball was held at 3 Casa de Manana in La Jolla on January 28. The vesper services at the l First Presbyterian Church on January 26 were impressive. At the Tower Day ceremonies on January 29, the class recognized its leaders and bade J farewell to the school. The graduation exercises at State College on January 30 were char- acterized by two outstanding pertormances: a tine address by the class orator, David Regnery, and the singing ot the class song, composed by Joe Liggins. Tl-IE Senior A Class of January, ICI36, presented lcebound at three well-attended evening performances. The play, a serious drama, centered about a small town family in the early 2O's. The story concerned the reactions ot the members ot an emotionally ice-bound tamily, when their wealthy relative died and left them nothing. The black sheep ot the clan was portrayed by David Reg- nery. Mary Paxton as the servant heiress played the feminine lead. P The supporting cast included Phyllis Bowman, Bill Loudon, Charles Nolen, l-lelen Withers, Joe Shell, Josephine La Marre, Robert Gray, June Manard, and Carolyn Parr.
