60 Seconds: An Editorial Comment As students graduate from Henrico High School in this new decade, they face opportunities and encounters for the future. Graduates will be responsible for shaping the nation’s future. Going through life and making choices for the paths that they will follow, individuals will be compelled to make decisions based on the developments of society. These decisions will reflect the educational foundation that students from Henrico High School have received. In the 1980’s, people need to unify to combat internal and external opposition. United States citizens will research conservation methods and will advance energy technology to strengthen the country. During times of crises American will use their intellectual power as well as their physical power to enforce the decisions made by their anchor men. To accomplish goals which will represent the desires of the entire population, inevitably the government will focus on increasing individ- ual input. Recent world events in the economic and political arenas have somewhat diminished the country’s apathy. The activators of this new decade must look at themselves more as citizens of the world rather than merely as citizens of the country. The world-wide chal- lenges of the 80’s will be confronted by the present generation that passes through the doors of Henrico High School. Grace Mallory Editor
