Ice Castles Ice Castles, the theme of the 1980 Winter Carnival dance, broke the hum-drum of the everyday patterns of academic life. The mood of the dance was set by the band, Turning Point. It was intensified by the announcement of the court and the crowning of Ted Atkin- son and Kim Beard, King and Queen.
