The warriors are very : proud of the students who excelled in the academic area. These honorable students were chosen as Boys’ Girls’ State dele- gates, alternates, and there was one chosen as a Governor's School participant. This year’s Boys’ State was held at Lynchburg College. Our representatives attended seminars, listened to var- ious speakers, and participated in athletic competition. Similar activi- ties took place at Longwood Col- lege where Girls’ State was held. Our one representative attended Governor’s School for the gifted. While he was there he attended classes of his choosing and went on field trips. 18 What an Exchange!! (; Qué cambio! The new warrior around ax campus this year is Manuel h Garza, the foreign exchange KX 7 student. He is a citizen of Mex- [A ico and a resident of Monter- ‘ rey. He enjoys basketball and playing the guitar. Besides speaking his own language Spanish, he is trying to improve his English. Manuel is an active member of AFS, FHA, and Key Club. He is also, the H-Teens sweetheart. After Graduation, he plans to attend college and pursue a Career in business in Mexico. Upper left: Manuel takes pride in show- ing-off his muscles! 20 Good Times In our pep rallies, students and faculty unite to show their excitement and ‘‘warrior pride’. The band, cheerlead- ers, majorettes, and many oth- ers combine forces to create enthusiasm. Henrico honors and recognizes our teams and students for their success. Mr. Warrior presents a special award to the most spirited class. Students welcome pep rallies as a break in the day to cheer and show their support for our school.
