All Part of the Game Hostessing Fall Sports Ban- quet, attending cheerleading camp at the University of Rich- mond, acting as guides for the P.T.A. parent night, and provid- ing refreshments for teams after practice are some of the spe cial activities that the cheerleaders have done this year. Besides these special events the cheerleaders have their regular activities which consist of cheering for all sports and pep rallies and daily practices. Ms. Shumate, sponsor, and Mrs. West, co-sponsor, work hard to coordinate the cheer- leader squads. Their active participation in all athletic events promotes the spirit of Henrico High School. Black Heritage and Y.A.C. “Brotherhood of Excelience’’ was the theme of Black Heritage Week at Henrico. Speakers, entertainment, and discussions were included in student activities for the week. John Houze, sophomore, said, ‘Black History Week is a good idea, and Blacks have made many great achievements which set a precedent for other minorities to fol- low.” Improving student attitude, planning cafe- teria meals and improving relations between cafeteria staff and students is the function of the Youth Advisory Council. WEURbew: EOE Upper: Mrs. Linda Gilliam and Ms. Ger- linde Edwards are the sponsors of the Black Heritage Committee.
