Unity, Strategy, and Adventure A.F.S. works to unify students of all countries. They house and make friends with foreign students, and they make them feel welcome in this part of the world. Mrs. Barbra Shelton is the sponsor of A.F.S. The name of the game is strategy, for the Chess Club. They learn new moves slowly but progress rapidly. They compete among themselves to achieve self-satisfaction. Mr. John Gallier is the sponsor of the Chess Club. X.F.S., The science club, experiences many adventures. They accumulate skills from trips and experiments. As the World Turns... many different countries and cultures are unveiled, and peo- ple of various colors, sizes, and opinions are revealed. Communication is displayed through actions, expressions, and, most prominently, speech. Spanish, French, Ger- man, and Latin classes are taught at Henrico. These classes participate in many exciting activities throughout the year, which include con- ventions, field trips, and guest speakers. CARE The Safety Club and Red Cross are caring organiza- tions. Their main objective is to help keep people safe and healthy. The Safety Club, spon- sored by Mr. Sharper, teaches students to be more careful when they drive. It also teaches them to maintain high- way safety. The Red Cross Club, sponsored by Mrs. Ste- vens, cares about people in trouble. The members collect money for this useful Cause.
