Scientifically The teachers in the Driver's Education and Science Departments responded to our questionnaire with a variety of answers. We got a six-way tie for the wittiest. For the friendli- est, the response was a little more unified, as Mr. Mathis and Mr. Sharper tied for the title. Between the two depart- ments the most popular pets are cats. One teacher said that Barbara Reynolds Junius Woodard he had pets ‘“‘too numerous to mention”’. Their hobbies include camp- ing, tennis, and playing in a country-western band. The Jumping Jacks There was a tie in the Phys- ical Education Department for the wittiest person. Earl Gar- bett and Mel Ardis both seem to be full of jokes and laughs. The department felt that everyone was the friendliest pos sible. Naturally all types of sports are enjoyed by the physical education teachers as hob- bies. Fishing seemd to be the most popular hobby since three of the teachers like this leisurely sport. One teacher also enjoys cooking and art in his free time. Mel Ardis is a new teacher in the department. Previously he taught three years at Moody Middle School. Both Joan Darden and Steve Vitek have been here since Henrico opened. We talked to Coach Vitek con- cerning changes which have taken place since the open- ing. He feels that Henrico should not change just for the sake of change and let many “‘old-time’’ trends be aban- doned. He also thinks we should go ‘‘back to the Bas- ICS.
