This song by Chicago sung by Expressions at the graduation exercises of the Class of 1978 symbolizes the journey through high school this class has made. At times, the going was rough, but the end result is well worth the effort. The agony of term papers, tired aching muscles after long practices in inhuman tempera- tures, boring class meetings, bake sales where no one comes, getting up at 10:00 to clean up after Prom when you only got to sleep at 6:30, serving deten- tions for being late to class, stumbling through the Alma Mater 59 times, battling the indigestion of 720 school lunches, and scraping up a decent date for sixteen school dances all seem worth the trou- ble when the graduate is handed his diploma. Top: Alright girls! Let's get organized! Middle Left: Dr. Steele appreciatively accepts a present from Mr. Tate. Middle right: David Robinson receives a silver key from Dr. Steele. Graduation is a sad time for some because it is the end of carefree high school years; when friends are scat- tered, and teachers must say au revoir to students they have helped through four years of growing up. Graduation is a joyous time because it is a new start for all, whether it be col- lege, a job, or marriage. No mat- ter what the future holds, high school graduation is a memora- ble event in anyone’s life, and the graduation of the Class of '78 was no exception. 205
